Objective: A platform where outdoor folks can buy and sell used gear, rent equipment, and get paid for their skills - like guiding trips or doing repairs.

Problem
Solution
Outdoor enthusiasts are stuck piecing together sketchy solutions. Want used gear? You're scrolling Facebook Marketplace hoping it's legit. Need to rent a kayak for the weekend? Good luck. Trying to make money as a guide? There's no good place to advertise.
Existing platforms fall short in three ways:

No trust. Scams and fake gear make people nervous about peer transactions.

Not built for this. eBay and Craigslist weren't designed for renting gear or booking guides.

Expensive fees. eBay takes 15%, which kills it for casual sellers.
GearXchange is the one platform for buying, renting, and booking outdoor services—no more jumping between sketchy sites.
Here's how it works:

Buy or sell gear by sport, condition, and location

Rent equipment with calendar booking, damage deposits, and insurance built in

Book certified guides or find someone to repair your stuff
Trust is baked into the system: ID verification, escrow payments, and gear condition checklists. Fees are lower (5–10% instead of 15%), and there's a "Carbon Saved" tracker because reusing gear matters.
